Welcome to the KU Energy Club homepage! The KU Energy Club (KUEC) is a student run organization at the University of Kansas that aims to promote dialogue on regional and national energy topics.
The KUEC formed in the fall of 2010 and has held or co-sponsored several events to date, including an exclusive receptions with energy sector recruiters, a lecture by Kansas City Power and Light CEO Mike Chesser and a presentation by ExxonMobil titled “The Outlook for Energy: A View to 2030″. We are honored and excited to present all of these events free of charge for energy club members thanks to support from our sponsors.
The KUEC also sponsored the first ever KU Energy Conference on April 14, 2011 at The Oread hotel. We were excited to be able to present John Hofmeister, a leading industry expert and former president of Shell Oil Company, as our keynote speaker. We were also pleased present Governor Sam Brownback, who addressed attendees on how energy fits into his vision for the economic development of Kansas and the region.
